GROTON, CT — Speeding cameras in the City of Groton are now live and citations are being issued, according to police.
The warning period has ended and violations are being issued from Oct. 14.
"These cameras are here to reduce speeding, improve roadway safety, and protect everyone who uses our streets," police said in a flyer.
The speeding cameras are located at Mitchell Street, Thames Street and Clarence B. Sharp Highway.
The locations were chosen based on "traffic volume, consistent speeding patterns, roadway characteristics, and a preventive approach to traffic safety," according to the city.
