Attack Sub Returns To Groton Due To 'Minor Leak': Report

Navy officials said there was no risk posed to the crew or ship.

GROTON, CT — Navy officials said the attack submarine USS Pittsburgh returned from sea to the Naval Submarine Base in Groton due to a "minor leak" within its nuclear propulsion plant, the New London Day reported. The leak was discovered during a routine inspection, officials said.

According to the New London Day, officials said the small amount of moisture was contained within the sub's reactor compartment and did not affect the safety of the reactor. There was no risk posed to the ship or crew, officials said.
