UPDATE: Body Pulled from Thames River Near Groton Sub Base May be Missing Montville Kayaker: Police

GROTON, CT - State police are currently investigating the discovery of a body Tuesday in the Thames River, according to media reports.

The body was spotted and reported by Navy personnel, according to NBC Connecticut. The body has not yet been identified.

Police believe the body could be that of a Montville kayaker who went missing in February, according to the New London Day. Since the body was found on federal property, police said the investigation is now in the hands of the sub base.
