Following the 200 years of history of the Avery-Copp House, cellist and educator
Tom Readett portrays the same span through the cello: from music of the house's first years to the decades between 1890 and 1930, when a teenage Pablo Casals found Bach's rarely played suites in a Barcelona music shop and changed what the cello could do on stage. Between pieces, Tom shares the stories behind the music and behind his own instrument, a cello made in Milan in 1748 that was already half a century old when the Avery-Copp House was built.
