Dangerous Fugitive Leads Police on Foot Chase in Groton: Police
Bacardi Robinson is wanted on home invasion charges from N.C. The foot chase included dog bites, accidental firing of a gun and hostages.

It’s been a busy day at the office for Groton police and federal marshals.
Bacardi Robinson, 25, led law enforcement on a foot chase after jumping out a window at 435 Burningtree Drive in Groton around 8 a.m. July 10.
Robinson is a suspect in two home invasions in Fayetteville, N.C., the Hartford Courant reported. According to ABC11, Robinson allegedly broke into two homes in 2014 and assaulted elderly people. He and another suspect allegedly had guns in hand.

The foot chase in Groton was anything but ordinary. According to the Hartford Courant, the chase also included:
- A police dog biting a detective after mistaking him for Robinson
- A discharge of the detective’s gun when the dog bit occurred
- A reverse 911 call to residents ordering them to stay inside their homes
- An alleged hostage situation when Robinson entered a Driftwood Circle home when two teenagers were inside
Robinson allegedly attempted to run from law enforcement but was not successful. He was arrested on a multitude of charges, including burglary, home invasion and assault on police.
