Downed Power Lines Cause Power Outage In Groton

Power officials said an area of Groton lost power after power lines came down.

GROTON, CT- An area of Groton lost power after power lines came down Tuesday afternoon, NBC Connecticut reported. Groton Utilities said power is out along Eastern Point Road and south of Rainville Avenue.

Officials said the outage was likely caused by wind knocking down a tree branch, which in turn affected lines in the area, according to NBC Connecticut. Groton Utilities said the wires came down on Rainville Avenue and Benham Road.
