Drunk Groton Man Slams into Chevy Chase Movie Gazebo: Police

The incident occurred in Townshend, VT.

A 71-year-old Groton man was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated Friday after his car struck a gazebo in Vermont that was featured in the 1988 Chevy Chase movie “Funny Farm,” according to authorities.

NBC Connecticut News reports that David Page’s car struck the gazebo, located in Townshend, VT, just before 10 p.m.

After he was apprehended, police said his Blood Alcohol Content was .181 percent, more than twice the legal limit.
