DUI Driver 4X Legal Limit At Time Of Crash: Groton Police
A woman is accused of causing a three-car crash when she slammed into another car at a traffic light Friday morning, according to police.

GROTON, CT — A driver caused a three-car crash and was found to have blood-alcohol levels at more than four times the legal limit, according to Town of Groton police.
Groton Emergency Dispatch received several 911 calls at 8:16 a.m. Friday reporting a crash in the area of Toll Gate Road and Route 12 in Groton.
A police investigation found that a 2013 Volkswagen Passat was driving westbound on Toll Gate Road toward its intersection with Route 12.

A Ford F-150 and a Hyundai Tucson were stopped at a red traffic light.
The Volkswagen's driver, Hope Wread, 51, of Groton, struck the Hyundai from behind, which hit the pickup truck, police said.

No injuries were reported. Only Wread's car was towed from the scene of the crash.
Police found that Wread was driving drunk and breath samples showed her blood-alcohol content was more than four times the legal limit of .08, according to police.
Wread was charged with second offense illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence, illegal operation of a motor vehicle under suspension alcohol-related, illegal operation of a motor vehicle without ignition interlock device, and vehicles to be driven reasonable distance apart.
She was held on a $2,500 cash or surety bond.
