Dunkin' Donuts Robbery at Gunpoint Results in Arrest: Police
A Groton man was arrested after allegedly robbing the Poquonnock Road coffee shop at gunpoint.

At approximately 4:10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, a man walked over to Dunkin’ Donuts employees as they were opening the Groton shop, located at 1064 Poquonnock Rd.
He allegedly took out a handgun and demanded they give him money, NBC Connecticut reported. After conducting an investigation, police arrested 29-year-old Groton resident Melvin Hooks, Jr.
Hooks reportedly ran away with money and when police spotted him nearby, he allegedly ran from police. The gun and the money were found by police officers and Hooks was arrested on the following charges:

- First-degree robbery
- Sixth-degree larceny
- Criminal use of a firearm
- Criminal possession of a firearm
