Daryl Blonder will discuss his recent memoir, Problem Child: Confessions of an Aspie, at the Library on Thursday, May 24, at 7 p.m. Blonder’s memoir is a first-person account of what life is like with Asperger Syndrome. The book focuses on Blonder's childhood in Salem, his teen years at East Lyme High School and his career in the film industry.
In an interview with The Hartford Courant, Blonder said, “It's been a difficult lesson to learn over the years, that other people aren't like me, that they don't think the way I do and I don't think the way they do. Day to day, I've tried to live with it and deal with it, but … to this day, I still don't 'get' people."
After a short presentation, Blonder will answer questions and sign his book. This program is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the Library at 860-441-6750.
