The Book Club will discuss The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Stockett’s first novel depicts civil rights era Jackson, Mississippi where recent college graduate and fledgling writer Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan, seeking a book-worthy project, interviews African American maids Aibileen and Minny about their relationships with their employers, risking their jobs and possibly their safety.
