Celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens with the Book Club by joining us when we discuss Great Expectations on Wednesday, June 13, at 7 p.m. In one of Dickens’ most famous novels, Pip, a poor orphan boy, is befriended by an unknown benefactor, allowing him to go to London and live the life of a gentleman. His adventures and his encounters with a strange and colorful cast of characters, especially with the convict Magwitch and Miss Havisham and her beautiful ward, Estella, change him from a shallow youth to a mature man.
The book discussion is free and open to the public. No registration is necessary; just read the book and join us for an informal discussion. If you need a copy of the book, please inquire at the Information Desk. If you would like more information, please contact Barbara Clark-Greene at 860-441-6750.
