World of Words Peru kick off with Inca Son

The Library’s sixth annual World of Words celebrates Peru during March. The month-long celebration kicks off on Saturday, March 3, at 2 p.m. with a performance for families by members of Inca Son, a world acclaimed band founded 20 years ago by Cesar Villalobos. The richness of Peruvian folklore comes alive with this celebrated band, one of the few bearers of the Inca musical legacy. Dressed in full regalia and playing pan flutes and other native instruments, Inca Son has been called "a banquet for the eyes and ears." (Bob Young, Boston Herald). This program was made possible by a grant from the Connecticut Humanities Council.

Free and open to all. No registration. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
