NEW YORK, NY—In a tweet, the New York City Fire Department welcomed sailors to the Big Apple, but not for a tour, for a history lesson and a briefing on how firefighters responded to 9/11 and the lessons it learned from the terror attack the country is still trying to heal from.

"FDNY welcomed members of the @USNavy Naval Submarine Base New London to Department headquarters earlier today, where they were briefed on FDNY’s experiences and lessons learned both during, and following, the attacks on September 11, 2001."
