Fire Severely Damages Home In Groton

The fire department responded to the the call Sunday night.

GROTON, CT — Firefighters extinguished a blaze that severely damaged a home Sunday night, The New London Day reported. A family of four escaped the 17 St. Paul Court home without injury.

The fire broke out at 8:50 p.m., damaging the home's first floor and basement.

Numerous area fire departments responded to assist the Poquonnock Bridge department, according to The New London Day. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
