WHERE/WHEN: Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Olde Mistick Village in Mystic.
WHY GO: Chowder, chowder and more chowder! Proceeds benefit the Emergency Food Pantry at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center. Plus, there’s plenty of free family activities to keep the kids occupied!
PRICING: Events are free. Chowder samples are $1 each, $5 for 7 or $10 for 15.

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Elks Lodge on Washington Street in New London.
WHY GO: There’s no better place—this far north, that is—to enjoy some zydeco music and some Cajun and Creole food.
PRICING: Tickets are $40 each or $75 per couple.

WHERE/WHEN: Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Palmer Auditorium at Connecticut College.
WHY GO: The world tour of this film festival makes four stops in Connecticut this weekend—New London, Glastonbury, Deep River and Farmington. Don’t miss this amazing evening of adventure!
PRICING: Tickets are $15.

WHERE/WHEN: Shows are at the Garde Arts Center at 7:30 p.m.
WHY GO: Movies include Social Network on Thursday, I Am Love on Friday and Inception on Saturday. Also, catch Oceans on Saturday at 11 a.m. and How to Train Your Dragon later that day at 3 p.m.
PRICING: General admission is $8 per person. A film pass is available for $30 to use at all films.
