Groton Bank Robbed for the Second Time in a Week
Groton police are investigating whether this latest robbery is connected to a similar incident in Waterford.

For the second time in less than a week the People’s United Bank branch inside Stop & Shop off Route 12 in Groton has been robbed, reports the New London Day.
This latest robbery occurred at 3:20 p.m. as the suspect submitted a note to the cashier demanding money. Police don’t mention if a weapon was involved.
The Day reports that Groton Police are investigating whether this robbery is related to an April 6 robbery at Charter Oak Federal Credit Union in Waterford.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee with a chrome bumper. (The suspect’s photo is below).
On Monday Groton police charged Timothy Foye, 26, of Groton for allegedly robbing the People’s United Bank branch in Groton, NBC Connecticut reported.

Foye was charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree larceny and breach of peace. His bond was set at $200,000.
