Groton Church to Begin Offering Weekly Free Lunches

A Groton church is expanding its program to bring free lunch to the community every week.

GROTON, CT - A Groton church will being offering weekly free Saturday lunches for the community, the New London Day reported.

The Groton Congregational Church has been offering free meals once a month since Thanksgiving of last year, according to the New London Day. The Monument Street church will now expand the program to serve lunch every Saturday starting in April.

Church officials said a sit-down meal from will be held on the first Saturday of every month from noon to 1:30 p.m., the New London Day reported. A bagged lunch will be provided other weeks.
