Groton Committee Approves Proposed School Construction Plan
Their approval will move the proposed plan forward to another meeting this month.

GROTON, CT – A proposed $184.5 million plan was proposed Wednesday to build a new middle school and convert two existing middle schools into elementary schools, The Day reported.
The case was presented by Superintendent Michael Graner to the Representative Town Meeting Education Committee, who approved moving the proposal forward, according to The Day. The plan can not go to the voters without the approval of the committee.
The committee will report their approval at the full Representative Town Meeting on Aug. 10, where the plan must be approved to end up on the November ballot, The Day reported. The plan would involve renovating West Side and Cutler Middle schools into elementary schools.
