Groton Council Votes to Move Forward with School Construction Project

The project will cost a reported $184.5 million.

GROTON, CT- Town Council voted Monday to send a school construction program forward, as reported by The Day.

Council voted 6-0 to adopt an ordinance that will give $184.5 million towards building and design costs for a consolidated middle school, according to The Day. The project will also convert two existing middle schools into renovated elementary schools.

The ordinance will go to the July 13 Representative Meeting before an expected vote on Aug. 10, according to The Day. Groton taxpayers would pay $84 million of the $184.5 million project cost.
