Groton Father Accused of Abusing 2-Month-Old Appears in Court
The infant suffered 29 fractures and is being treated at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital.

A Groton man accused of abusing his 2-month-old son was arraigned on Friday, Eyewitness News reported.
Jordan Rittenhouse, 24, was charged with first-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor. Officials said the infant suffered 29 fractures, and the head doctor at Yale-New Haven Hospital said it was “the worst case [he’d] ever seen,” according to Eyewitness News.
The news channel said that at the arraignment, Rittenhouse admitted to squeezing his son approximately eight times over the period of four weeks to get him to stop crying.

Rittenhouse is a member of the U.S. Navy and is currently a student at the Naval Submarine School in Groton. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
The case has been transferred to Part A court where Rittenhouse is scheduled to appear on Sept. 10, according to the Hartford Courant.
