Groton Father Arrested for Child Abuse

A 2-month-old boy is suffering life threatening injuries because of possible child abuse by his father, Eyewitness News reported.

Groton police received a report of possible child abuse on Tuesday and found that the child had serious physical injuries, according to NBC Connecticut.

Jordan Rittenhouse, 24, of Groton, was arrested and is charged with risk of injury to a minor and first-degree assault, the news channel reported.

The child is being treated at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.

Rittenhouse is being held on a $300,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in New London on Friday.
