Groton Father Charged with Forcibly Dragging Daughter from School for Counseling: Report
The daughter allegedly suffered rug burns and bruises as a result.

GROTON, CT – A 35-year old father was convicted of a felony charge for forcibly dragging his 13-year old daughter out of her middle school, The Day reported.
Mark Thornton was charged with dragging his daughter from West Side Middle School in September 2015, according to The Day. The incident stemmed from his daughter’s refusal to leave for a counseling appointment.
Thornton faces up to 10 years in prison, The Day reported. The daughter allegedly suffered rug burns and bruises as a result of her father dragging her by her wrists and ankles from outside a classroom to the school’s main office.
