Groton Issues Warning About Non-Flushables
Running low on toilet paper and using paper towels or "disposable" wipes? This video shows why you shouldn't flush them.
GROTON, CT — The city of Groton is taking what you flush down the toilet seriously. The problem is that when toilet paper supplies run low, people begin flushing other materials that often cause clogs and can overwhelm sewer systems.
Groton Mayor Keith Hedrick has created a video demonstrating what not to flush down the toilet and why it's a problem. There is an increasing problem with people using alternates to toilet paper—like paper towels and wipes—and then flushing them.
