Groton Man Charged In Assault During Arranged Drug Deal: Report

Police said a Groton man has been charged with assaulting another man and stealing his phone during an arranged drug deal.

GROTON, CT — Police said a Groton man has been charged with assaulting another man and stealing his phone during an arranged drug deal, the New London Day reported. The incident occurred on Dec. 20 near the victim’s Groton Estates apartment, police said.

Police said Lexus Elijah Gordon, 23, and another man allegedly beat up the victim when he left his apartment to sell marijuana to another man in a car parked outside, according to the New London Day. The victim told police he was followed by the suspects after exiting his apartment and then punched in the head.

Police said the victim sustained a head injury, an eye socket fracture and a hemorrhage in the right eye as a result of the alleged scuffle that followed, the New London Day reported. The suspect was arrested on a warrant and charged with assault, robbery, larceny and breach of peace, police said.
