Groton Man Charged In Child Pornography Case, Police Say
The man is accused of transferring explicit material involving children via the internet, police said.
GROTON, CT — A man was arrested in Groton on Friday on child pornography charges, according to police.
City of Groton police conducted an investigation into a man who was "reported to have transferred explicit material involving children via the internet," according to a police statement.
Police identified Joshua R. Vargas, 31, as the suspect.

Police executed a search warrant at an address where Vargas was living and seized several items that they linked to Vargas. Police then presented an arrest warrant to New London Superior Court, which was granted.
Vargas was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of child sexual abuse material, according to police.

He was held on a court-set $100,000 cash/surety bond. He will be arraigned in New London Superior Court on Monday.
