Groton Man Charged In Double-Fatal I95 Crash

A 38-year-old Groton man was charged in connection with a December 2018 double-fatal crash on I-95.

GROTON, CT—A 38-year-old Groton man has been charged by state policewith manslaughter in connection with a December 2018 double-fatal crash on I95. Jose Noriega-Gonzalez was arrested after a lengthy investigation into the two-car collision that killed two people, Fox 61 reported.

According to a report, the Dec. 16, 2018 early morning crash near exits 91 and 92where one of the cars was traveling north on I-95 southbound, Fox 61 reported. The cars collided and killed both passengers in the front seats. The three other people involved in the crash suffered serious injuries. The two people killed were Eric Ramakers, 37 of Arizona, and Lorna Valcin, 26 of Massachusetts.

Noriega-Gonzalez is charged with manslaughter, assault, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence, and wrong-way driving.

He is being held on $1.5 million bond with a Sept. 10 court date.
