Groton Man Charged With Firing BB Gun In Public Area: Police
A man is facing charges after police say he fired a BB gun in a public area.
GROTON, CT — A man has been charged for firing a BB gun in a public area, according to Town of Groton police. Police received a call at about 8:30 a.m. Friday regarding a man in camouflaged clothing with a rifle near an open field adjacent to Deerwood Drive and Gungywamp Road.
The neighborhood is heavily populated by U.S. Navy personnel and their families, according to police. The caller reported that the man was attempting to load the rifle. A caller later reported that the man fired a shot into a wooded area near Gungywamp Road.
Police responded to the call and made contact with the suspect. The rifle was recovered, which police said was a large pellet gun with a suppressor attached to the barrel.

No one was injured in the incident.
Gage Lincoln, 22, of 17 Greenwood St. in Groton, was charged with second-degree breach of peace. His bond was set at $5,000.
