Groton Man Charged for Painting Entire Rented Apartment Black: Police

Possibly channeling his inner-Batman, an evicted man is charged with coating every inch of his apartment in black paint.

GROTON, CT – A man was arrested Monday after he damaged his landlord’s property by painting an entire apartment black, The Day reported.

Arthur Carron, 54, received an eviction notice in February after not being able to afford his rent, according to The Day. He is suspected to have coated nearly his entire apartment, including ceiling and light fixtures, in black paint sometime between March 1 and April 10.

It was estimated by a contractor that it would cost about $4,000 to $6,000 to repaint the kitchen, according to The Day. Carron claimed he merely wanted to clean up the apartment and never finished painting.
