Groton Man Pleads Guilty To Child Exploitation: Federal Prosecutors
A Groton man has pleaded guilty to a child exploitation charge in federal court.
GROTON, CT — A Groton man has pleaded guilty to a child exploitation charge, according to prosecutors.
Ryan Cameron, 22, was convicted in state court in 2023 of illegal dissemination of intimate images of a 15-year-old girl.
While he was on probation last year, his probation officer conducted a home visit and found Cameron had a cell phone, which was a violation of the conditions of his probation.

The phone contained videos of child sexual abuse and messages between Cameron and others in which he solicited and distributed child pornography, prosecutors said.
The phone also contained recordings of Cameron sending sexually explicit images and videos of himself to young girls on Snapchat.

Cameron pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography, a crime that carries a mandatory minimum prison term of five years and a maximum prison term of 20 years.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 28.
Cameron has been in custody since May 20 when he was arrested on unrelated state charges.
