Groton-New London Airport to Host Air and Sea Celebration

GROTON, CT – The Groton-New London Airport will host an Air and Sea Celebration in honor of the Connecticut Submarine Century on Aug. 19.

The event will run from 6 to 9 p.m., and is for ages 21 and older. A portion of event proceeds will benefit the return of the USS Groton’s sail for permanent display as a monument.

Guests are invited to enjoy delicious tastings from the Beacon Bar & Grill and Ray’s Catering, visit the wine bar with locally brewed beers and marvel at airplanes. The submarine phtography exhibit can also be viewed.

Tickets are $40 per person in advance, and $50 at the door. Special Active Duty tickets are also available that are buy one, get one free.

Live music by local blues bands The Sue Menhart Band and Wooly Mammoth will also be present. The fun will be located the Mystic Jet Center North Hangar of the airport.
