Groton Petition ends Friday 1/12/18 early afternoon

GROTON'S RIGHT TO VOTE - G R T V

There are retail locations Friday that have petitions for the Groton
Charter Revision so that active Groton voters can sign them and thereby
place the Revisions on a ballot .
These revisions, if placed on November 2018 ballot, and voted in favor, allow Groton citizens to:
(a) vote directly in annual referendum on the Town Budget (which you cannot do now),
(b) retire the RTM system....... and instead
(c) add a 7 person Board of Finance to assist with Budget Review.
There are no other major changes.
Here's where you can sign up Friday until at least 12 noon, possibly later
At Groton Stop & Shop entrances for part of the day.....
Carson's Store - Noank - at the lunch counter till 12 noon
Ackley's Package - Poquonnock Bridge, Rt 1 near Rt 117
