Groton Police Announce Road Closures During Tarzan Brown Mystic River Road Race

Several roads will be impacted.

The Groton Town Police announces a Traffic Alert and Road Closures occurring Sunday, Nov. 2, between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., in the Mystic area.

This is in conjunction with the 36th running of the annual Tarzan Brown Mystic River Road Race, which is sponsored by the Ocean Community YMCA, Mystic Branch.

  • Pearl Street will be closed between Clift St. and West Main St. from 11:30 a.m. to the end of the race.
  • Clift St., Grove Ave., Starr St., and Gravel will experience road closures at 12:45 p.m. for the children’s run, and again just before the start, which is 1:30 p.m. These closures are expected to last only a minimal amount of time.
  • River Road will only be closed just before the start time, which is 1:30 p.m., and will reopen as soon as safety permits.
