Groton Police Announce Traffic Restrictions For Bridge Anniversary

Police announced traffic restrictions and no-parking restrictions for an event this weekend.

GROTON, CT — The Groton Police Department announce traffic restrictions and no-parking restrictions for Saturday, October 15, 2022 in the Groton-side downtown Mystic area, specifically in the area of the following roads:

-Vehicular traffic on River Road will be northbound only starting at 7:30 PM from the intersection of Starr Street north to Bindloss Road

-There will be temporary “NO PARKING” signs placed on the west side of River Road between Starr Street and Bindloss Road

-There will be temporary “NO PARKING” signs placed on the north and south sides of Clift Street from Pearl Street west to around the Clift Street curve

Traffic flow will be returned to normal based upon the discretion of the Groton Police Department’s on-scene event supervisor.

Any vehicle blocking traffic or preventing emergency vehicle access to any roadways will be towed. Parking violations will be enforced.

Motorists, pedestrians, and spectators should be mindful of higher-than-normal traffic in the downtown Mystic area due to this event. The Groton Police Department wants to remind motorists and pedestrians to be vigilant and safe when traveling in the downtown Mystic area. We also ask for your continued support to ensure we provide a safe and fun environment for all people coming to take part in this event.
