Groton Police Arrest 2 Men Charged with Cocaine, Crack Cocaine Possession

Police made two arrests after an investigation into the sale of cocaine within southeastern Connecticut.

GROTON, CT - Detectives and Officers from southeastern Connecticut formed to combat the heroin epidemic and improve the quality of life for citizens made two arrests following a recent investigation.

The Regional Community Enhancement Task Force arrested New London residents Shakim K. Outler, 39, and Rasheem J. Singleton, 35, in Groton after an investigation into the sale of cocaine within southeastern Connecticut. Police seized 21.4 grams of crack cocaine, 1.5 grams of cocaine and $1411 during the investigation.

The Groton Town Police Department, with assistance from the Regional Community Enhancement Task Force, investigated known Groton high crime areas Thursday. Detectives observed a suspicious vehicle that Outler was driving, who was found to be in possession of an amount of cocaine and arrested.

Detectives later located Singleton, who was known to have active arrest warrants. The suspect was arrested and found to be in possession of crack cocaine.

Police said Outler was released pending his assigned court appearance, while Singleton was held on bond.
