Groton Police Arrest Teenage Suspect After Shooting Outside 99 Restaurant

After two days of investigation, police arrested a teenager suspected in connection with a recent shooting.

GROTON, CT – Police said they arrested a teenager in connection with the shooting that occurred Sunday outside a 99 Restaurant, according to media reports.

Officers said they have taken a 17-year old into custody, who was transferred to the Hartford Juvenile Detention Center after being processed by Groton police, News 8 reported. Police said the investigation is still ongoing and they expect more arrests.

Police have not released the identity of the suspect due to his age, NBC Connecticut reported. He has been charged with assault, robbery and carrying a pistol without a permit.

A preliminary investigation earlier in the week revealed that the shooting was not a random act, News 8 reported. Police also pointed out that those involved in the incident were not associated with the restaurant.
