Groton Police Catch 5 Teens Breaking Into Cars: Report

The teens were allegedly breaking into cars in the School Street area around 2 in the morning on Wednesday, August 19.

Five teenagers were arrested the morning of Wednesday, August 19, after Groton City police officers observed them allegedly breaking into cars.

Around 2:15 a.m., police responded to a report of teens allegedly breaking into cars in the School Street area, The Day reported.

The teens, ages 13 to 16, allegedly left the scene and police pursued them, ultimately apprehending them and arresting them on the following charges:

  • Interfering with police
  • Possession of burglary tools
  • Sixth-degree larceny
