The Groton Police Explorers Are Actively Recruiting

Law Enforcement Exploring provides Law Enforcement career training, leadership opportunities, and community service activities. Law Enforcement Exploring combines classroom training with hands-on training such as Forensics, Crime Scene Investigation, Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, Pursuits, Criminal and Constitutional Law, K-9 Demos, Police Boat Rides, Ride Alongs, Community Policing and much more.

Police Explorers work alongside Police Officers as they participate in police functions such as parades and festivals and wear official uniforms that distinguish themselves as Law Enforcement Explorers. As a Law Enforcement Explorer, you will develop leadership skills, personal skills, self-confidence, college and/or career preparedness, and team building skills. Explorers will also network with explorers from other departments in CT as well as other states.

The Explorer meetings take place once a week. Meetings are generally every Monday at 4:30pm at the Groton Town Police Department across from Fitch High School. The last meeting of the month usually takes place at different venues.

Law Enforcement Career Exploring through Post 571 has a nominal yearly enrollment fee, however, financial assistance may be available.
