Groton Police Honor Officer of the Year
The officer grew up in Groton City and joined the department just over 13 years ago.

We are pleased to announce this year’s Officer of the Year is Peter Miller. Officer Miller grew up in Groton City and joined the department just over 13 years ago. Officer Miller is active in the field training program where he serves as a FTO (field training officer).
Last year, Officer Miller stopped about 760 vehicles for various violations and gave about 700 infractions in result of those stops.

In 2003 and 2013, Officer Miller received the MADD award for his diligence in apprehending drunk drivers. He is bicycle and CIT (crisis intervention training) certified.
On February 7, 2015 Officer Miller will be honored at the Groton Elks for outstanding work.
