Groton Police Officer Delivers Baby: Report
The officer responded to a call for an "imminent pregnancy" during his shift in Groton.
GROTON, CT — A Groton police officer went above and beyond the call of duty when he delivered a healthy baby boy early Saturday morning at a Deerwood Drive residence, the New London Day reported.
According to the Day, Officer Marvel Bennett responded to a call for an "imminent pregnancy" at the home around 5 a.m., where he found a woman minutes away from giving birth. Police said both the mother and the child are healthy thanks to Bennett's calm and quick response.
