Groton Power Outages Due to Transformer Failure

2:57 p.m. Update:

Groton Utilities estimates that power will be restored within the next two hours.

2:45 p.m. Post from City of Groton Government:

We had two small transformers fail. We’re in the process of switching over to a back-up emergency line. We hope to have it remedied soon. Police have been stationed at our four major intersections: Clarence Sharp and Meridian, Clarence Sharp and Rainville, Benham and Rainville, and Rainville and Poquonnock Rd.
