GROTON, CT — Groton Public Works will be offering Home Compost Bins for $45 each.

Composting food and yard waste are a great way to reduce your carbon footprint, reduce the volume of your waste and create a soil amendment that helps plant growth!

To purchase a Compost Bin, please fill out the form and stop by the Public Works Department at the Town Hall Annex, 134 Groton Long Point Road, Groton, CT 06340, with a $45 check made out to SCRRRA. Sale hours are 8:30 am to 4 pm Mon-Fri.

The sturdy bin comes disassembled so that it will fit in any vehicle.

The assembled size is 28” w x 28” d x 32” h and has 2 sliding doors at the bottom and a removable, locking top for adding food and yard waste and holds approximately 85 gallons of waste. The charcoal colored unit blends in well and is made of 75% post-consumer recycled polyethylene.

Compost bins are being offered to residents through the Southeastern Regional Resource Recovery Authority (SCRRRA).
