Groton Pull Box Prompts Quick Response, Possibly Saving 2 Overdose Victims’ Lives
Two people overdosing in the street could have died if not for a street pull box.

GROTON, CT – A man witnessed two people overdosing Monday night and did not have a phone, so he used a street pull box that prompted quick emergency response, The Day reported.
The man witnessed the potential overdose victims near Poquonnock Road close to 11:20 p.m., The Day reported. Crews quickly arrived and treated both victims before transporting them to the hospital.
Emergency officials encourage citizens to use the safety boxes, which they say are the last alarm system to fail, The Day reported. The boxes in Groton also send alerts directly to the local dispatch center.
