Groton’s 2016 Fort Griswold Celebration is Back On
Thanks to a generous donation from Groton Utilities, the annual celebration will be held as planned on July 9.
GROTON, CT- Parks and Recreation announced on their Facebook page Wednesday that the annual Fort Griswold Celebration on the Thames is back on.
The celebration was recently announced as canceled due to lack of funding. Since then, Groton Utilities has very generously stepped up to help fund the annual favorite event, scheduled for its original date of July 9.
The event will feature live entertainment, food vendors and more. The festivities will kick off at 6 p.m.

“Thank you to everyone for showing how much this event means to the community,” Groton Parks and Recreation said in the post. “Your voices do matter. Now let's get ready to celebrate at Fort Griswold next Saturday!”
