Groton Schools’ Budgets to be Reduced, Absorb Midyear Costs

The plan has been discussed with members of the Groton Board of Education.

GROTON, CT - Superintendent Michael Graner said Friday each of Groton’s schools will help absorb midyear costs, The Day reported.

The superintendent plans to absorb about $247,000 in midyear education cuts by reducing the budgets of Groton’s individual schools, according to The Day. The budgets of the buildings and grounds department will also see a budgetary reduction.

The plan has been discussed with members of the Groton Board of Education, however a vote has not taken place yet, The Day reported. The board will vote on Monday, January 23.
