Groton State House Rep. Will Not Seek Reelection: Report
A member of the General Assembly has announced he will not seek another term.
NEW LONDON, CT — State Rep. Joe de la Cruz, D-Groton, said he will not run for reelection, according to The New London Day. He made the announcement during the first day of 2022's legislative session.
De la Cruz was elected in 2016 to the General Assembly after serving on Groton's Town Council and Representative Town Meeting.
De la Cruz, a sheet metal worker by trade and vice president of Groton metal fabricator Hillery Company, said his business has seen a trifold increase.
