Groton Teen Perseveres, Heads for College in Spite of Rough Situation

A Groton teenager has worked hard to overcome some rough circumstances and is now destined for college.

GROTON, CT - A Groton teenager has worked hard to overcome some really tough circumstances and is now destined for college, as reported by Fox 61.

Fox 61 recently shared the story of Brooks Kenney, whose mother battled breast cancer for a number of years. Due to this, Kenney and his brother bounced between hotel rooms as their mom commuted to Boston for treatment.

Kenney’s mom has now been cancer-free for two years, according to Fox 61. After working at the Marriott Hotel to save money for college, he will now be studying hospitality at Johnson and Whales University in Rhode Island.
