Groton Utilities Officials May Have Violated City's Ethics Code, Board Says
The board said these violations would have taken place during a controversial Kentucky Derby trip.

GROTON, CT - The Groton City Ethics Board has reached a decision regarding complaints related to a Kentucky Derby trip, the New London Day reported.
The board voted unanimously Wednesday that there is probable cause that three Groton Utilities officials violated the city’s ethics code, according to the New London Day. These violations took place during a controversial Kentucky Derby trip that took place in May of last year.
The trip was hosted by the Connecticut Municipal Electric Energy Cooperative, as reported by the New London Day. Though said to be a business retreat, officials said the trip entailed no business meetings while guests included family and friends.
