Groton Utility Officials Violated Ethics Code With Kentucky Derby Trip: Report

The board recommended the utility commissioner resign.

GROTON, CT — Three Groton Utility officials were found to have violated the city ethics code when they attended the Kentucky Derby in 2016.

The Board of Ethics suggested that Utilities Commissioner Edward DeMuzzio resign or be removed from his post by the end of the year, according to The Day.

The Connecticut Municipal Electric Energy Cooperative hosted the trip which cost $342,000 for 44 participants.
