Groton's Sastre Named to Federal Public Safety Committee

Groton emergency management director selected for his expertise in public safety

Groton Emergency Management director Joe Sastre was recently named to the national Public Safety Advisory Committee as part of the federal government’s First Responder Network Authority Program (FirstNet), according to the town manager's report.

Sastre was selected as a member of the board to represent the International Association of Emergency Managers.

The PSAC was established as a national body comprised of representatives from public safety organizations representing all disciplines of public safety as well as state, territorial, tribal and local governments. Approximately 40 PSAC members provide insight, expertise and guidance to FirstNet as it creates a nationwide public safety broadband network.
